The Flagellants of Infanta. Skirt (saya). The skirt called saya

The Flagellants of Infanta.

Skirt (saya).

The skirt called saya is made out of dried banana leaves.  It is very similar to the ones worn by the Kalayaan flagellants in Laguna. In Kalayaan they call it suot babae. Filipino machos thus humiliate themselves which is an additional act of penance.
